Aubrey Plaza is pregnant with her first child. The 41 year old actor is expecting a baby with partner Christopher Abbott, with the birth anticipated in the northern autumn, according to a report by People magazine published on Monday.
A source close to Plaza told People the pregnancy was a welcome development after a painful stretch. The couple have kept their relationship largely out of public view, though they share a professional history stretching back several years.
They appeared together in the 2020 independent film Black Bear and co-starred in the off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, which ran from late 2023 into early 2024.
Plaza was previously married to screenwriter and director Jeff Baena. The pair wed in 2021 and separated in September 2024. Baena died in January 2025 at the age of 47.

Plaza spoke publicly about Baena’s death for the first time last year during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast. She described herself as present and functioning but acknowledged the weight of ongoing grief.
The pregnancy news arrives during a busy professional period. Plaza’s adult animated comedy series Kevin, which she co-created, wrote, and executive produced alongside Joe Wengert, is set to premiere all eight episodes on Prime Video on 20 April.
Abbott, meanwhile, is currently performing on Broadway in Death of a Salesman and has an upcoming Netflix series, East of Eden, expected later this year.
