A three part Netflix documentary series about former One Direction bandmates Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson has reportedly been dropped after the pair allegedly got into a physical fight during filming.
Reports first came out in October 2025 that Netflix was making the docuseries. It would follow the two singers on a road trip across the United States.
The show was meant to give fans a close look at their lives since One Direction split up in 2015. Early reports also said it could include deeper talks about the band’s history.
The series was going to be directed by Nicola Marsh, who is known for her work on the Netflix version of Song Exploder.
Netflix never officially confirmed the project. Now, according to a report in The Sun on 17 April, the whole thing has fallen apart.
Malik allegedly made comments about Tomlinson’s late mother, Johannah who died of leukaemia in 2016.
The argument reportedly happened during filming in Wyoming where things got worse and Malik allegedly punched Tomlinson.

Sources told The Sun that Tomlinson was left with a cut on his head and a concussion. The injuries were reportedly caused by rings Malik was wearing at the time.
People involved reportedly tried to fix things between the two but nothing worked. Netflix then decided to cancel the series.
Marsh appeared to confirm the project was over through an Instagram Story, writing: “And there goes the last year of work.”
In another sign that the two have not made up, Tomlinson has since unfollowed Malik on Instagram. He still follows former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and the late Liam Payne.
The pair have reportedly not spoken in the six months since the incident. Tomlinson went back to the UK and Malik returned to his property in Pennsylvania.
Neither Malik and Tomlinson nor Netflix have publicly spoken about the reported cancellation.
