‘Be relentlessly lethal’: US admiral pre strike message

According to reports, a direct message was sent to US forces in the Middle East on the eve of strikes on Iran. It urged soldiers to be “relentlessly lethal” and presented the mission as a historic turning point.

Washington Post military reporter Dan Lamothe said, the letter, which was credited to US Central Command commander Admiral Brad Cooper was sent to roughly 50,000 troops who were directly engaged in operations against Iran.

An appeal for discipline and force

Cooper gave troops simple instructions in the message, telling them to be relentlessly lethal.

Additionally, he wrote, “In the heat of the conflict, remember who you are” giving them instructions on how to remain disciplined under duress. Be as professional in your behavior as you are in your goal.

“You are the shield of the free world, and today, you are its sharpest sword,” the letter says, portraying US forces as both a deterrent and a weapon.

Additionally, it forewarns of the uncertainty that lies ahead, characterizing combat as inherently chaotic and forecasting noise and confusion in the coming days and possibly weeks.

After claiming that Iran has killed and wounded thousands of Americans and continues to threaten Americans and our friends since 1979, the text links the mission to decades of animosity with Tehran.

It then tells the troops, “Today, by your courage and grit, you will change the course of human history.”

The letter’s appearance coincides with the region’s ongoing conflict, which is causing increasing disruption to vital infrastructure and travel as well as strikes and retaliation in several nations.
