Total Fire Ban has been declared throughout most of the Victoria region on Wednesday the 11th of February, 2026.
Reports indicated that the warnings had come due to the presence of dry bush accompanied by stronger winds that would help spread any fire.
Ban will reportedly be effective across the Central, Mallee, North Central, North East, Northern Country, West and South Gippsland and Wimmera fire districts.
The ban means that no one is allowed to light a fire or have a fire burning outdoors.
Meanwhile, the Total Fire Ban is still not in East Gippsland and the South West. However, the CFA stated that the fire danger ratings in those places will be high and elevated.
The warning follows a very dry start to the year.
Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Kevin Parkyn said that the north westerly winds would be hot and would gust to 40km/h.
It is to be that said these winds would add to the fire risk in dry bush and grass.
Temperatures for the day have been forecasted to go up to 40 degrees in Mildura, 39 degrees in Echuca and 32 degrees in Melbourne before a cool change comes through later in the day.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a south westerly change is to hit the south west in the morning, this change is expected to reach Melbourne.
