SOLAR SMALL BUSINESS GRANTS
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN - CLOSING 4 APRIL!
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST ARE NOW OPEN!
Australian businesses need access to affordable and reliable energy. That’s why the Morrison Government is supporting our local businesses to be more energy efficient, reducing emissions and lowering their power bills.
We are investing $45 million in the Energy Efficient Communities Program, providing grants to help businesses to save money by either installing new equipment or by reviewing and improving their energy management.
Eligible small businesses will be able to claim grants of up to $20,000 and, high-energy using businesses up to $25,000. Grants could be used to fund the replacement of lighting, air conditioning and refrigeration systems to help reduce energy costs.
Funding will support activities to help businesses save energy through:
equipment upgrades that reduce energy consumption
investment in energy and emissions monitoring and management systems to better manage energy use
completion of energy systems assessments according to the Australian Standard or feasibility studies to investigate energy efficiency opportunities
We know that businesses are struggling under the weight of high power prices. That’s why we’re taking strong steps to ensure they get the practical support that they need to reduce their energy use without reducing productivity.
We are investing in them, so they can invest in their business, their staff and our local community.
Expressions of interests close on 4 April 2019. If you’re interested in applying, please complete the form included at the bottom of this page, and return it to my office by 4 April 2019.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Grants will be made available for:
businesses that consume large amounts (over 0.05 petajoules) of energy each year
HOW DO I EXPRESS INTEREST?
Fill in the below EOI form below - if you have any supporting documentation (ie. plans, prices, etc.) please email them to me at Ken.Wyatt.MP@aph.gov.au using the subject line “Solar Small Business Grant - EOI”.
I will then consider the EOIs and deciding which projects to nominate after consulting with community stakeholders.
If your organisation is nominated, you’ll be invited to apply formally when the program officially opens in mid-2019 through the Australian Government Business Grants Hub. Nominated projects will need to meet Program Guidelines and eligibility criteria, which will be made available closer to the opening date.
Initial Expressions of Interest are now open and need to be submitted by 4 April 2019.
