Senior Australians in Sydney’s south will soon benefit from a 111-bed aged care service, supported by a $6.3 million annual funding commitment by the Morrison Government.

Quality care and quality lifestyle will be priorities of the three-storey Georges Estate Health and Aged Care, which will be operated by the Hall & Prior group and offer residents a gymnasium, cinema, heated swimming pool, wellness centre, day therapy centre and allied health clinic.

It will also include a dedicated wing offering the latest in secure care for people living with dementia.

The new aged care home will be an important part of the local community and also act as a hub for the delivery of home care services to senior Australian in the surrounding area.

The investment complements a record number of new places announced in our Government’s recent Aged Care Approvals Round, the largest expansion of residential care in Australia’s history.

In total, 13,500 new places were allocated across the nation, valued at $907 million a year.

Of these, providers in New South Wales were allocated 3,485 places – valued at over $233 million a year - and more than $14 million in capital works grants.

In the 2019-20 Budget the Morrison Government has increased aged care by $7 billion over five years.

This record package will deliver thousands more home care packages to help senior Australians live at home for longer, significantly improve aged care quality and safety compliance, and support growth, skills development and new career paths for our vital and valued aged care workforce.

Georges Estate Health and Aged Care is expected to be completed in 2020.
