RECORD FUNDING TO HELP REDUCE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN HASLUCK

Combating violence against women and children in Hasluck remains one of the Morrison Government’s top priorities, as part of its plan to keep Australians safe.

 The Morrison Government is proud to be making the largest ever Commonwealth investment of $328 million for prevention and frontline services through the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022.

The Morrison Government will get the people of Midland home sooner and safer and make doing business easier, with $20 million to bust congestion on the Lloyd Street Bridge Extension.

The infrastructure overhaul means easy access to the airport, better freight connections for local industrial enterprises and quicker access between work, the Midland Hospital and shops for those living in Hazelmere and Guildford.

Free access to glucose monitoring devices will save pregnant women, children and more adults in Hasluck living with type 1 diabetes up to $7,000 a year from the start of March, thanks to an investment by the Liberal National Government.

 Federal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt MP, said the Government’s investment over the next five years will assist 37,000 eligible people, including many in Hasluck with type 1 diabetes through the expansion of the Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Initiative.

Community organisations will get help to reduce their power bills through the Morrison Government’s $5 million Solar Communities program which is part of new Energy Efficient Communities Program.

 A $5 million Solar Communities programme support grants of up to $12,500 for eligible community organisations to apply for funding for small-scale solar energy generation and storage projects.

The Liberal National Government will ensure that residents in Hasluck at risk of heart disease receive timely and appropriate medical advice with the creation of a new Medicare item for heart health checks.

 Federal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt MP, said from April 1 this year a new dedicated MBS item for heart health checks will support General Practitioners and patients in assessing cardiovascular risk.

The Morrison Government’s world-class National Broadband Network (NBN) is speeding towards completion in Hasluck with 75% per cent of homes and businesses now ready to connect, and 21,500 new premises scheduled to be ready for service by August.

Minister for Communications Mitch Fifield welcomed the news and said super-fast internet would now be a reality for the majority of people in Hasluck.

The Liberal National Government will establish the HeartKids Project with $26 million to tackle childhood heart disease, which affects more than 65,000 throughout Australia and including Hasluck.

Today, on international day for congenital heart disease, Federal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt MP, said the Government will provide $20 million for medical research into congenital heart disease.

The Liberal National Government will support the mental health of expectant and new parents in Hasluck and around the nation with a $26 million for a new Perinatal Mental Health and Wellbeing Program.

Federal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt MP, said the impending birth and arrival of a baby—the perinatal period—brings incredible joy as well as new challenges and responsibilities which can be overwhelming.
