Federal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt MP celebrated with local Wattle Grove constituent, Mrs Kathleen Vermeer about the news that customers shopping at the Wattle Grove Shopping Centre will now be able to post letters.
Australia Post has recently installed a brand new post box at the Wattle Grove Shopping Centre. This was as a result of Mr Wyatt requesting the closed Post Box on Welshpool Road near the Puma Service Station be relocated to the Wattle Grove Shopping Centre.
“This is great news for the residents of Wattle Grove” Mr Wyatt said.
“Although many people these days are more inclined to use digital technology to pay bills and send their correspondence via internet and email, there is still a need for Post Boxes to cater for those in our community who wish to send hard copy correspondence.”
Mr Wyatt congratulated Mrs Vermeer for her efforts in raising a petition last year that called for postal services to be established at the Grove Lotteries and News at the Wattle Grove Shopping Centre.
Mrs Vermeer brought her concerns to Ken Wyatt and Australia Post during Ken’s Communications Forum held in Wattle Grove in October last year, the Australia Post representative was then asked to review postal services for Wattle Grove.
“I am very happy with this outcome for Wattle Grove and I will continue to work hard to advocate for the constituents of Hasluck” said Mr Wyatt.
